A bet for education

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go”

Theodor Seuss Geisel

In a joyful event, last December, representatives from CasaLuker and the Luker Foundation delivered the books and bookshelves donated by Dengel, one of the company’s clients in Germany.

The donation included over 400 new general interest and recreational books and shelves made from recycled materials for the children, teachers, and parents linked to the Limoncillo, Buenos Aires and Alto Carito schools.

One of the teachers at the Alto Carito School said the following:

“We want to thank you for this marvellous donation, which will be very useful for the children’s learning process… with this beautiful material they now have, the children are much more motivated to read, and teachers are finding it much easier to plan and teach their classes”.

The idea of this important donation is to provide educational and cultural well being for the children and families of the villages surrounding the cacao production project run by the company in Necoclí. The donation provides greater access to books, motivating children to read every day in their free time as a factor that can complement formal education.
